Every April 30th, Mexico bursts into color, laughter, and games to celebrate one of the most beloved dates on the calendar: Children’s Day. This special occasion is meant to honor children’s rights, highlight their importance in society, and, of course, offer them a day filled with joy, fun, and affection.

The origin of Children’s Day in Mexico dates back to 1924, when then-president Álvaro Obregón and Minister of Public Education José Vasconcelos established this celebration in response to the Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child. Since then, every April 30th has become a day to remember that the well-being, play, and education of children are a shared responsibility.

To join in the celebration, the editorial team at Vallarta Lifestyles has prepared a list of 10 activities to enjoy with your little ones on this day. Fun, exploration, and unforgettable moments to treasure this Children’s Day:

  1. Take a panga boat ride to Los Arcos de Mismaloya

  1. Plan a picnic afternoon at Playa del Holy
