In a remarkable start to the year, Puerto Vallarta emerges as the preferred tourist destination, reaching 100 percent hotel occupancy from December 26th, 2023 to January 1st, 2024.

Christian Preciado, director of Tourism and Economic Development in Puerto Vallarta, reported that during the last week of 2023, hotels in Puerto Vallarta were at full capacity, with hotel occupancy between 95 and 100 percent. This remarkable percentage confirms the preference of national and international visitors for this destination.

As 2024 begins, the influx of visitors continues, due in part to school vacations and the appealing climate that Puerto Vallarta offers during this time. Current reports indicate that hotel occupancy remains at a robust 85 percent, with the promise of surpassing 90 percent in the coming weeks.

The vibrant scene in the restaurants, bars and beaches reflects the continued influx of visitors, who have praised the festive atmosphere and safety of our destination, solidifying it as an exciting choice for families.

Preciado also highlighted the achievements in the international cruise tourism segment. More than 540,000 passengers arrived in 2023, surpassing previous figures, and 2024 began with an impressive double cruise arrival on January 2nd.

“With all of this, we reaffirm the excellent moment that Puerto Vallarta is experiencing on a national and international level,” concluded Preciado.

“Vallarta Lifestyles has readers from Punta de Mita to Mismaloya and beyond, so announcing my business, means the positioning and recognition of my agency throughout the region. The contents of the magazine are very interesting, because they provide relevant information about activities in the destination. I am pleased to see it at hotels, restaurants and galleries, but what excites me the most is to see people with their issue in hand. That is really relevant for us.”

“Vallarta Lifestyles is very helpful for someone who arrives for the first time to the destination, because through its content one can discover really nice places to visit. Besides, it is a guide for us as residents, because we know from a good source the new things we can do. People take the magazine and in one place they find hotels, restaurants, galleries, real estate and other featured services.”
